Sacramento State squandered an 11-point halftime lead and a six-point lead in overtime, falling to Weber State 76-73 Thursday night at the Hornets Nest.

Clark Woods missed a 3-pointer with 11 seconds left that would have put the Hornets up one.”It felt good when it left my hand,” the junior guard said.

Sacramento State’s (14-10, 5-5) loss was its third-straight at home.

After coming back from the halftime deficit, Weber took a 46-45 lead with 13:19 left in the game on a Coric Riggs jump shot. The two teams remained close throughout the rest of regulation.

Hornet freshman Loren Leath made a jump shot with 1:15 to tie the game at 64 with just over a minute play. Neither team was able to take advantage of their chances in the final minute of regulation.

Sac State head coach Jerome Jenkins said the team had its chances to win, but was unable to get the job done.

Woods and forward Alex Bausley led Sac State with 14 points. Point guard DaShawn Freeman had seven assists, but was held to five points.

Four Wildcats (10-13, 4-6) finished in double figures, led by Terrell Stovall’s 19.The Hornets return to action at 7:05 Saturday at the Hornets nest when they take on Idaho State.
