Case of man charged with attacking Sac State Professor dismissed
September 26, 2000
The charges against the man arrested for the attempted robbery of a Sacramento State Chemistry professor last semester have been dismissed due to lack of evidence.
Russ Dietrich from the Sacramento County District Attorney?s Office said the charges were dropped against James B. George because of problems with the only witness.
“We lost some of our evidence, that?s pretty much the end of it,” Dietrich said. “Unless any new information comes to light.”
Professor Roy Dixon was leaving Sequoia Hall on Feb. 14 at 11p.m., when he was hit with a stun gun and mugged by two male suspects, who stole his wallet.
