Esmeralda Garcia is a junior transfer and journalism major at Sacramento State. This is her first semester at The State Hornet, and she has journalistic interests in environmentalism, social justice, culture and the arts. She hopes to get a master’s degree in either English or Journalism in the future. Outside of journalism, she enjoys creative writing, reading, drawing and the outdoors.

The renowned Sundance Institute, a nonprofit that platforms independent filmmakers, visited Sacramento’s Crocker Art Museum Saturday, Sept. 27 as one of the stops on its ongoing Indigenous film tour. Two of the featured directors joined the screening for a follow-up panel discussion.
