The butt that took over the Internet, and why it’s ok

The Internet went on a trending overload this morning when Paper, a pop culture magazine, posted a picture showing Kim Kardashian’s most famous asset in all its glory: her butt with the disclaimer “Kim Kardashian- Break the Internet”.

The Internet is working fine, but the hate toward Kardashian and her famous booty is as thick as thieves.

The world’s reaction was almost instantaneous. Comments popped up by the microsecond, criticizing her for being a new mother and posing nude, throwing out names like “a classless no-talent” and giving (probably unwarranted) advice on how to be a “real woman”.

No matter what anyone says, how many comments are posted, or how many tweets are retweeted, Kim Kardashian is being talked about; and that is exactly what her job is. The cornerstone of her fortune hangs on Kardashian remaining trendy and in the spotlight as much as possible, and it has been a fruitful career so far. She is considered to be the most successful and highest paid “classless no-talent” reality star of our generation.

Kardashian is famous for being famous. According to Forbes, she has a net worth of $28 million, a fortune that is in part thanks to very smart public relation campaigns that featured her butt as the main attraction.

Kardashian makes far more than her sisters Khloe and Kourtney, and more than any other reality star in Hollywood history. For what she is doing with her life, she is doing it very, very well; and as long as she keeps herself in the headlines and at the top of every trending poll on the Internet, that fortune will continue to grow.

Blasting Kardashian for being good at her what she does is a mystery. It’s like disapproving of a district attorney for putting more criminals behind bars, or criticizing a doctor for saving too many lives. If anything, Kardashian should be praised for being smart enough for surrounding herself with savvy business professionals and public relations managers who keep her relevant.

As for women criticizing her for using her world-famous behind as a marketing tool, it is just as classless to openly judge another woman for exposing their birthday suit, as the act itself is perceived to be. It raises cattiness to a new level that feeds online trolling and unhappy world wide web users who share their misery on the Internet.

Kudos to you, Kim. Haters gonna hate.
