A fatal incident near the intersection of State University Drive East and Folsom Boulevard caused traffic to be diverted to College Town Drive Thursday afternoon.

Eastbound traffic was shut down for a period of time but was reopened later in the day.

It is not yet known whether any Sacramento State students or faculty were involved in the incident.

Update – Nov. 18, 8:56 p.m.

According to a post on the Sacramento Bee’s 9-1-1 blog, a man jumped from Highway 50 and died from injuries sustained in the fall.

“A Sacramento police activity summary said the man was running in traffic and throwing rocks at vehicles about 3 p.m.,” according to the blog post.
