Student’s humor, smile remembered by friends, family
January 6, 2007
The life of Jayme Jones was honored Monday by Associated Students Inc. with a plaque and a young, pink cherry willow tree.
Jones died last November in an automobile collision.
Tiffany Gellie, a junior kinesiology major who was also Jones’ roommate, attended the memorial with Jones’ friends and dormitorymates.
Friends of the 18-year-old pre-nursing major presented a poster and plaque to Jones’ parents, Jeff and Judy of Auburn, Calif.
Dog tags with Jones’ name and the dates of her birth and death were handed out to friends and family as a part of the memorial.
“Jayme would have been so proud of you all,” Judy Jones said. “These are such a neat bunch of kids,” she said. “Jayme loved this school so much.”
Krystle Coniglio, a sophomore child development major, told stories of her late friend at the memorial.
“I’m going to miss her smile, her humor, her presence in general,” Coniglio said.
Jones is survived by her parents, her sisters Jessica and Rachel and her brothers Jeremy and Riley.
