Jacob Holden joined The State Hornet spring 2021 as a staff writer on the general assignment desk. He previously wrote for his high school newspaper, the El Camino Eagle Eye, as opinion editor and as an intern staff writer for the Elk Grove Citizen. He is majoring in political science-journalism and plans to do policy analysis after graduation.

Madelaine is a fourth year journalism major at Sacramento State University. This is her third semester at The State Hornet and will be a visuals reporter this semester. Madelaine has experience with photography, news writing, press releases, videography, social media marketing, and other forms of content creation. This summer, Madelaine had the opportunity to work as a photojouranlist intern for The OBSERVER. Madelaine was elected as president of Society of Professional Journalists chapter at Sacramento State University this fall.

Christopher Escamilla, staff writer

Christopher Escamilla is a staff writer on the general assignment desk for The State Hornet. He has previously done journalism work as a staff writer for The Collegian, San Joaquin Delta College’s newspaper. Before college, he graduated from Stockton Collegiate International School.

Jacob, Madelaine and Christopher – wonderful work on this video. For so many students, and faculty, this is a poignant reminder of the natural beauty of our campus that we have missed.
