Sac State’s UNIQUE to celebrate 40th anniversary with Kel Mitchell, YBN Cordae

YBN Cordae, Kel Mitchell and Basi Vibe are coming to Sac State on April 11 to celebrate UNIQUE Programs’ 40th anniversary. This event is exclusively for Sac State students.

Sac State’s volunteer based UNIQUE Programs will be celebrating its 40th anniversary through three days of entertainment, featuring artists and performers such as Basi Vibe, Kel Mitchell, and YBN Cordae.

The main event on Thursday will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the University Union Ballroom and will be exclusively available to Sac State students.

Along with this main celebration featuring Basi Vibe, Kel Mitchell and YBN Cordae on Thursday, UNIQUE Programs is hosting two other events. The first will be on Tuesday and will feature DJ Nocturnal playing from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Element Brass Band to finish off the night.

The other event will be on Wednesday and will feature two nooners. Live Manikins will perform from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and DJ Rated R from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Cake, frozen treats and popcorn will be available while supplies last.

Basi Vibe is an independent R&B, soul and poetry artist from Sacramento. His sound is influenced by various artists such as John Legend and Frank Ocean, according to his website.  

Kel Mitchell is widely known for his sketch comedy series on Nickelodeon, “All That,” which aired from the ’90s to the early 2000s. Mitchell recently confirmed via Twitter the revival of the show, which will include a reunion of “Kenan & Kel” starring Kenan Thompson.

YBN Cordae is a rapper who is signed with Atlantic Records. He gained popularity by making remixes of popular songs like “My Name Is” by Eminem.

Admission to the event is free with a ticket reservation and your OneCard presented at the door. Tickets can be reserved here or at the Associated Students Inc. Student Shop located in the University Union.
