Internet access problems at Sacramento State today are related to the distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack that is affecting internet users nationwide, according to an email from the Office of Information Resources and Technology.
“Here on campus, we have reports that the servers supporting Qualtrics, Reheer, and possibly others are not accessible,” said the email, which was sent at 12:07 p.m.
Sacramento State Public Affairs has not responded to a phone call as of press time.
It is unknown who is responsible for today’s DDoS, which began at 4:10 a.m. with an attack on networks run by Dyn, a New Hampshire-based internet service company, and made CNN, Twitter and Tumblr unavailable for many internet users.
The State Hornet will update this story as more information becomes available.
