February 10, 2016
The Sacramento State Associated Students, Inc. held an informational meeting about the upcoming elections on Tuesday, Feb. 9, in the University Union Lobby Suite.
“The election days are going to be on the 19 and 20 of April,” said Kyle Maples, the ASI elections officer and senior government relations major. “You can run for president, executive vice president or vice president of finance, university affairs or academic affairs.”
Candidates must be in good academic standing with the university, possess a GPA of at least 2.5 and be a current member of the constituency they wish to represent, Maples said.
“Our candidate election application is not online yet,” he said.
Once the application is made available, interested students will have until Friday, March 11 to fill it out and turn it in. Campaigning for the 2016-17 ASI elections will begin on Monday, March 28.
