On Friday, Jan. 22, Virginia Tech shooting survivor Kristina Anderson gave a presentation on her story, active shooter preparedness, and violence prevention in schools.

The presentation took place in The WELL with several members of Sacramento State police in attendance, including Sac State Police Chief Mark Iwasa.

Anderson, who was shot three times during the attack, gave a detailed breakdown of her experiences and the movements of the shooter on April 16, 2007.

“It is the last place you would imagine something bad is about to happen,” Anderson said of the campus. “It really could happen anywhere.”

Anderson ended her presentation with a question for the audience.

“What are you going to do after this presentation? It’s not enough for you to be inspired,” Anderson said. “I guarantee you that school shootings are preventable.”
