Sacramento held a parade in honor of the hometown heroes who stopped the terrorist attack on the train in France.

The parade took place downtown in Sacramento and ended at the Capitol where Mayor Kevin Johnson spoke honoring the heroes Anthony Sadler, Spencer Stone and Alek Skarlatos.

Johnson also made a tribute to September 11 and said how it wasn’t a surprise that it was Americans from Sacramento who acted on the attack in France.

“We cannot be prouder as a city,” said Johnson.

At the end of the ceremony the three heroes were given keys to the city as token of their appreciation.
