Rowing dominates UC Davis, sweeps all five races

Sacramento State women’s rowing traveled to UC Davis for the annual Jean Runyon Cup today.

Sac State had five boats racing and all five won against UC Davis.

The first boat to race was Sac State’s junior varsity eight, and the Hornets had two boats competing that finished in first and second. Sac State’s first team finished with a time of 7 minutes and 15 seconds, followed Sac State’s third varsity 7:34 and UC Davis recorded 7:43.

Women’s varsity four came in first at 7:58 followed by UC Davis’ 8:34.

Sac State’s second varsity four raced and beat Davis’ A and B teams. The Hornets clocked 8:27 and the Aggies’ A team had 8:35 and the B team recorded 8:48.

The novice eight boat came in first with the time 7:23 and UC Davis recorded 7:32.

The Hornets varsity eight boat came in first with 7:02 and the Aggies followed with 7:26.

The Hornets next regatta will be the American Athletic Conference Championship in West Winsor, New Jersey, on May 17.
