A male caught exposing himself by the elevators on the third floor of the University Union at Sacramento State was arrested by campus police at 2:15 p.m.

Sac State Police Chief Mark Iwasa said the male, identified as Shawan Wimberley, jumped off the third floor, 10 to 12 feet near the stairwell, breaking his leg from the fall.

“Officers got there immediately, he saw the officers and started running,” Iwasa said.

Upon custody, Iwasa confirmed that Wimberley is a registered sex offender.

Wimberley was suspected of a previous incident at the Academic Information Resource Center Tuesday, where he exposed himself to a female. Iwasa announced today that both incidents were committed by the same person.
