A female cyclist was hit by a car on the corner of White Poplar Way and State University Drive East at 8:20 p.m. at Sacramento State .

“Bicyclist had minor injuries and declined to transport,” said Jesse Smith, Sacramento State police officer.

Journalism major Josh Leeper collided with the biker as he was exiting campus at the intersection.

“I was coming out the parking lot and made a stop at the stop sign,” Leeper said. “My backpack was falling and I picked it up. I started to move the car and when I looked up she was on the hood of my car. I didn’t see her coming. I didn’t even see her.”

The cyclist refused to comment on the situation and remained seated on the sidewalk, crying until officers had her enter the police vehicle.
