The 2014 Grad Fest, presented by the Alumni Association and Hornet Bookstore, helped graduating seniors prepare for commencement Tuesday in the Union Ballroom.

Graduation services, like the purchase of caps and gowns, announcements and photos as well as counseling for graduate schools and job recruiters were all in one place.

For $40, a graduating senior could purchases a Grad Pack, including a two-year alumni membership, an alumni T-shirt, a green Hornet license plate frame, and a five dollar discount on graduation caps and gowns.

About 600 Grad Packs are expected to sell between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Ethnic Studies graduating senior Kortney Jones said she is excited to prepare for graduation early to avoid the last minute rush.

“It will help me by me getting my cap and gown for discount and taking care of everything I need to take care of in one day,” Jones said.

Jessica Leahey, junior and marketing intern, helped fill the Grad Packs and said the event will be beneficial to students because of networking opportunities with potential employers and information about graduate programs.
