Over the past few years, TV watchers have been saturated with vampire-themed shows and movies to keep them entertained.

The CW Network introduced its new series, “The Originals,” proving the supernatural trend probably isn’t going to slow down anytime soon.

Fans of “The Vampire Diaries” will find themselves addicted to “The Originals” as well. Although it is a spin-off – thanks to a completely separate storyline – there’s no need to have watched “The Vampire Diaries” to understand the plot of the new series.

“The Originals” focuses on three vampire siblings: Klaus played by Joseph Morgan, Elijah played by Daniel Gillies and Rebekah played by Claire Holt and their quest to get back what they feel is rightfully theirs.

The family is returning back to its roots in New Orleans with a plan to take back the city, which the siblings left behind more than a century ago. This becomes an apparent struggle for them because they cannot seem to cooperate with one another long enough to solve anything.

The first three episodes aired earlier this month, but between the bustling good time theme of the New Orleans’ French Quarter, the action packed scenes and the bloodline betrayal, it’s definitely worth catching up on the series.
