How to work out on your way to class
September 4, 2012
Students often have really busy schedules and it can be difficult to fit everything we want to do into our daily routine.
One of the most common things people push out of their schedule is their workout routine – but just because you’re cutting out gym time doesn’t mean you have to cut out exercise entirely.
If you feel in a bind time-wise, there are many ways you can still get a little bit of cardio into your day.
One of these ways is by making this simple choice: instead of the elevator, take the stairs. Sac State is full of buildings and every so often one of your classrooms isn’t conveniently on the first floor.
According to www.discoverwalking.com, you burn 10 calories a minute climbing stairs. If you climb five flights of stairs in a five-minute period, that’s 50 calories burned on your way to class. Not a bad way to start the day, and not a bad workout either. Who knew getting to class could be so good for you?
