First ASI meeting discusses OneCard
September 9, 2010
Associated Students Inc. plans to become involved again with promoting the campus OneCard discount program to local businesses.
The OneCard promotions work team tries to encourage local business to offer discounts to Sacramento State faculty and students.
ASI was last engaged with the promotions work team in 2006.
Working with the promotions team could bring additional businesses into the OneCard discount program; therefore, providing more discounts for students.
ASI President Terry Martin said this involvement is a good way to get businesses interested in offering discounts to the faculty and students.
Wednesday’s ASI meeting also discussed establishing the 2011 ASI election dates sooner. While Martin said the dates are almost always similar before and after spring break, Martin said this issue is being discussed to confirm the dates sooner than previous years.
“It is difficult for people to plan without knowing,” said board associate Rita Tyk.
Martin also discussed appointing students to the grade appeal panel.
