Nike Elite Meet wraps up with several Hornets qualifying for conference championship

Sacramento State track and field saw several players qualify for the Big Sky conference championship on Saturday from both the men’s and women’s squads. Additionally, junior Kristina Holtz and freshman Renisha Robinson qualified for the NCAA regional championships in the steeplechase event.

For the women, senior Lori Vaught, sophomore Ericka Violett and freshmen Chelsea Davis and Alicia Truesdale all earned the right to compete in the conference meet. Davis will compete in the 200 and 400, Truesdale in the 100 and 100-hurdles, Violett in the pole vault and 100-hurdles, and Vaught in the long jump and triple jump. Freshman Moira Robinson will also advance to the conference championship thanks to her performance in the heptathlon.

Seniors Jeffrey Paneda, Robert Brazier and Jimmy Williamson, junior A.J. Reed and sophomores Emilio Hernandez and Scott Grose will represent the men’s team at the conference meet.
