Women’s golf ties for 12th at Fresno State Invitational

The Sacramento State women’s golf team tied with the Santa Clara Broncos for 12th place at the Kitahara Fresno State Invitational on Tuesday.

The Tulsa University Golden Hurricanes, ranked 31 in the nation in a recent poll by the NCAA, won the tournament by posting a total score of 590. They were followed closely by UC Davis and the University of Kansas, which posted scores of 593 and 596, respectively.

Sacramento State scored 311 in the first round and 312 in the second round for a two-round total of 623.

Senior Heather LeMaster led the Hornets by posting a total score of 149 to tie for 13th among the individual players. She was followed by sophomore Brooke Green (T-50, 81-77-158), seniors Kim Coppin (T-62, 78-82-160) and Erica Yoshino (T-65, 82-79-161), and freshman Samantha Saffold (T-65, 77-84-161).

The next women’s golf game will be on March 10 at the UNLV Spring Invitational.
