Fifteen teams competed at the annual Outdoor Soccer Tournament hosted by Sacramento State Recreational Sports on Friday and Saturday at the Intramural Fields. There were eight teams competing in the men’s division while seven teams competed in the co-rec division with a separate championship for each.

Each division was broken up into two pools of play in which the champions and the runners-up of each pool were allowed to continue on to the final games.

In the men’s division, TKE won the Pool A slot with Kappa Sigma taking runner-up while the 209 Boyz took the Pool B slot with AMPAC following in second. During the semi-finals, TKE fell to AMPAC and Kappa Sigma lost to the 209 Boyz, who then went on to defeat AMPAC for the championship win.

For the co-rec division, Super Badd went undefeated to win the Pool A slot with the PE Majors taking second and Hey Bay Bay also went undefeated to take the Pool B slot with the Nor Cal Roosters picking runner-up. The Nor Cal Roosters knocked Super Badd out of the tournament during the first semi-final game while Hey Bay Bay defeated the PE Majors in the other semi-final and went on to take the championship over the Nor Cal Roosters during the final game.

The next Rec Sport special event will be the Golf Tournament. The deadline to sign up is on April 30 and the games will begin on May 4.
