Love Your Body Week kicked off Tuesday with the Mind and Body Fair in the Library Quad.

The fair provided various clubs and organizations at Sacramento State with the opportunity to reach out to the campus community about nutrition and body awareness.

President of the Food and Nutrition Club at Sac State, Michelle Gambucci, said she wanted the club to provide students with information on healthy nutrition and lifestyles.

Other organizations, such as representatives from the Student Health Center, Peak Adventures and representatives for the Student Health Advisory Committee were present offering various forms of information about activities and student involvement.

Health educator at Sac State Kalyn Coppedge said all events this week are aimed at encouraging students to utilize the resources available to them through the school.

Coppedge says Love Your Body Week is in support of the National Eating Disorders Awareness Week and hopes students will learn to have a more positive self-image.

In addition to Love Your Body Week other events will be taking place in March in support of Nutrition Month.

The Nutrition Jamboree tentatively is scheduled for the third week in March and Sac State’s first Health Awareness Expo is scheduled for March 18.
