The State Hornet placed in four “Best of Show” awards at the annual California College Media Association conference in San Francisco, including first place in the Associated Collegiate Press Interactive Element category.

All together, the Hornet won 11 individual and group awards on Saturday and Sunday.

In the ACP, the Hornet got a third-place award for its video.

In the CCMA awards, the Hornet won second and third place awards for breaking news stories; third for opinion column; third for sport story; third for photo illustration; second for editorial cartoon. The Hornet also won first place for best news page design.
