Sac State students were presented with endless job opportunities at the Spring Career Fair today in the University Union Ballroom.

Employer booths were lined up all around the ballroom with colorful displays to attract students to drop by and pick up contact information.

Senior mechanical engineering major Blong Xiong attended the career center in order to obtain “as much info as possible.”

Xiong said he was looking for technological companies to get his foot in the door.

Second semester junior Rigo Villanueva collected information from the Department of Forestry in order to pursue his career as a fire fighter.

“I dont want to work in retail all my life,” Villanueva said.

Villanueva said he is currently employed at Gottschalks and was looking to find encouragement and network opportunities at the career fair.

Campus recruitment events like the career fair are essential for students, seniors in particular, to increase their chances at obtaining a job once out of college, organizers said.

“In order for students to network and start working once their done with college we offer four career fairs at Sac State,” said Career Center Intern Osvaldo Ramirez.

Ramirez said the center also provides the resources necessary in job searching, interviewing, creating resumes and counseling.
