ASI Notebook: Nov. 7 special board meeting

Sacramento State Associated Students Inc. passed one of four legislations at a special board meeting held at 2 p.m. today in the Capital Room of the University Union. The other three legislations were postponed.
Legislation(s) withheld from voting
Proposal: Designating parking for students only.
Why postponed: President Christina Romero said ASI wants to have a more “well-rounded legislation” with more faculty input
Proposal: Student appointments to a task force to review student election procedures.
Why postponed: Vice President of Academic Affairs Curtis Grima said there was difficulty finding students available to attend meetings.
Proposal: The appointment of a student to a counsel that would input on ASI’s Strategic Plan.
Why postponed: Executive Director Pat Worley said the students with pending academic eligibility need approval from Sac State’s Student Affairs office.
Legislation(s) voted and approved by ASI
Proposal: To allocate approximately $1,000 of ASI funds toward a canned food drive. The charity event will feature a bowling competition between the Natural Sciences and Mathematics joint counsel and the Engineering and Computer Science joint counsel.
