The Hornets improved to 1-1-0 in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play with an overtime victory Friday against the Rebels of the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

Eli Millan, the Hornet senior, scored the golden goal in the 100th minute. It is the second straight season in which Millan has scored a game-winning goal in overtime against the Rebels.

The last four games against the Rebels have gone into overtime and the Hornets have won all four.

Hornet goalie Ryan Kenney saved six goals on the game and both teams committed 15 fouls.

Hornets Kyle Beasley, Brady Nunes and Josh Zimbrich all received yellow cards.

The Hornets play again on Sunday against the New Mexico Lobos as part of a doubleheader with women’s soccer. Kickoff is at 1:15 p.m.
