Hornets volleyball extends winning streak to 14

The Hornets won another match, this time against Eastern Washington, on Saturday night in the Hornets Nest. The win makes 14 consecutive for the Hornets and puts the team at 8-0 halfway through the Big Sky regular season.

The three-game-sweep (30-27, 30-20, 30-26), puts the Hornets at 20-3 overall. This makes 13 consecutive seasons with at least 20 victories for the Hornets.

Senior middle hitter Lindsay Haupt dominated the offensive boards with 15 kills to compliment her .500 hitting percentage.

Haupt had just one error in 28 attacks and improved to a .449 hitting percentage against Big Sky opposition.

Senior outside hitter Missie Stidham also posted double-figure kills and digs (13 kills, 11 digs). Stidham had two service aces, along with Chelsea Goodsell and Melissa Melcher.

Hornet defense limited Eastern Washington to a .173 hitting percentage.

The Hornets will finish the four-game home stretch next week against rival UC Davis. The match will take place Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. in the Hornets Nest.
