Abbott new cross country coach

State Hornet

Former Jesuit High School head cross country coach Scott Abbott has earned the same position at Sacramento State.

According to hornetsports.com, Abbott will be the distance coach during the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons as well.

Abbott excelled in track at both Jesuit High School in Sacramento and the University of California Los Angeles. In 1999 and 2000, Abbott was the team captain. He is also a two-time Track Student-Athlete of the Year.

Abbott earned all-state and all-west honors while still at Jesuit in 1995.

Abbott’s role as coach will begin abruptly, as the Hornet Jamboree begins this weekend at Granite Regional Park.
