Coffee, talk with ASI
May 11, 2007
Associated Students Inc. members were out Thursday morning in the Library Quad for the semester’s third “Coffee and Conversation” to talk with students and answer any questions students might have.
Students enjoyed fresh coffee and danishes, provided by ASI while talking with organization members in between classes.
The event’s goals were to have ASI members to be available to students, provide information to students and to listen to students’ concerns.
“It was good because we got a lot of students who wouldn’t normally go to the ASI meetings, and they got to see what ASI does,” said Jesus Andrade, the current ASI president. The goal for the board members was to inform students about the 24-hour study lounge that’s in the Academic Information Resource Center building.
“Since it’s peak study time with dead week next week, we want the students to know that’s available,” said Pat Worley, executive director of ASI.
ASI also passed out handouts, bookmarks and pencils informing students about the new 24-hour study lounge.
They were also informing students about is the OneCard discount program.
Chipotle, Quiznos Subs, Pita Pit, Steve’s Pizza, Mr. Pickles Sandwich Shop, Strings Italian Cafe, Denny’s Restaurant, Camera Arts and SubQ Body Piercing all give discounts to students who show their OneCard.
