J Street accident kills woman

A car accident that killed an 86-year-old woman caused backed-uptraffic at the J Street entrance to campus for three hours Thursdayafternoon.
The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of a FordF-150 pickup truck that hydroplaned into the center median where ittoppled both a tree and a light pole into the westbound lane oftraffic on J Street, officers said.
Pauline Logan Sahagian of Gold River hit the fallen pole anddied instantly.
The accident happened at 2:26 p.m. and shut down the road untilworkers could remove all of the debris.
Officers said that there was no alcohol involved, and theaccident will continue to be investigated.
