Wind ensemble to play Carnegie Hall

The CSUS Symphonic Wind Ensemble has been invited to perform atprestigious Carnegie Hall in New York this April 13.
The Sacramento State musicians will take part in the New YorkWind Band Festival, an annual educational event for collegiatemusicians. The festival includes competition, seminars andworkshops.
The week-long session is topped off with a public concert atCarnegie, considered one of the premier concert halls in NorthAmerica since its 1891 opening featuring a concert by renownedRussian composer Piotr Tchaikovsky.
The ensemble, one of two American collegiate collections chosen,is now attempting to raise the $100,000 necessary to make the trip.Fifty students will attend the festival at $2,000 per person.
