Former Sacramento State employee Rex Anderson was sentenced to 20 years in prison after being charged with over 25 felony counts in El Dorado County on April 24, 2003.

Anderson plead no contest after facing multiple charges ranging from lewd and lascivious acts with a minor to the possession and manufacturing of child pornography, said El Dorado County Deputy District Attorney Trish Kelliher.

Anderson was initially taken into custody on campus Nov. 26, 2002, where he worked as a drafting technician for Facilities Management, after the minor reported him to Child Protective Services.

Sac State University Attorney Donna Selnick confirmed officially that Anderson is no longer working for the University.

“It is a possibility for him to be paroled after two years, or that his sentence could be reduced to 50 years due to good behavior,” said Kelliher.

Anderson is being held in Tracy, Calif. where it usually takes a month to decide which prison he will be held in for the duration of his sentence, said Kelliher.
