University UNIQUE programs and Ford Division present the third annual Ford Focus Californopia College Tour and free mini-concert today from 11 a.m to 3 p.m.

The event, featuring the rock and ska band Save Ferris at noon, offers students a day filled with free food, games, great live entertainment and lots of giveaways.

Students will have the opportunity to compete in Sierra?s You Don?t Know Jack arena game,take a Bungee Run and test their knowledge in Tic-Tac-Trivia.

Special guests will include local alternative rock bands Limit Point, Bucho! and Freestate.

Captivating, motivating, real and raw are just a few words that have been used to describe Save Ferris and their sound.

“Their music inspires me to be strong, and they remind me to smile,” says volunteer fan club president, Hoku Beale. “Their songs are about loving, overcoming and moving on.”

Save Ferris has appeared in the film “10 Things I Hate About You” and have had their songs featured in “Scary Movie,” “Small Time Crooks,” “The Big Hit” and several other movies. Save Ferris? songs have also been used extensively in TV series including “Dawson?s Creek,” “7th Heaven,” “Jack and Jill,” “VIP” and recently in the promos for “The Weakest Link.”

“We care about our fans more than anything else,” lead vocalist Monique Powell said in the band?s Web site biography. “Our fans are true.”
