“Creature from the Black Lagoon” is a film about a group of scientists exploring the Amazon who get terrorized by a reptile creature known as the Gill Man. Since it’s release in 1954, the movie has been a favorite amongst horror fanatics and moviegoers alike and is “still entertaining, with luminous atmosphere,” says film critic Leonard Maltin.
