Tiffany wows Sac State crowd

Sacramento State students were treated to a special outdoor concert Wednesday afternoon as 80s teen pop star Tiffany rocked the campus.

Tiffany performed new songs that she has written since the days of her bubble gum pop. Her set included new songs like “Cinnamon,” with a much more alternative rock sound, a cover of Janis Joplin’s hit “Me and Bobby McGee” and her classic 80s hit “I Think We’re Alone Now.”

Tiffany really enjoyed the small venue atmosphere and socialized with the crowd throughout the show, at one point even giving a kiss to a student in the front row.

Many of the 1,500 students on hand came out to see if this really was the Tiffany that they remembered. Some were surprised by the change in her musical style.

“It was a little weird looking at this girl who I idolized when I was eight years old,” said junior Karey Palmer. “I was surprised and impressed, I didn’t know she could sing like that.”

Tiffany stayed around after her concert, which lasted about an hour, to sign autographs and take pictures with her fans.

Tiffany will continue her tour for the next eight weeks visiting colleges across the country before returning to Los Angeles to be with her family and work on her album.
