Internet sites make job hunting easier

Finding a job has recently gotten easier. With a click of your mouse you can have a professional resume made, find a job search in your area and get interviewing tips. Using such Web sites as monster.com, jobtrak.com and collegegrad.com, finding a job has just become a walk through the park.

Using these Web sites is fast and easy.

When entering monster.com, go to first-timers. When you get there you will see a circle of options in the center: Search Jobs, My Monster (Resume online), and Career Center. If you click on “Search Jobs,” you will see a location search where you can click the location of your choice, and below will find a job category search. Clicking search jobs below will open a page of job positions needed. By clicking on the company you are interested in you will be able to read all about the job position and the company.

Another good site is jobtrak.com. Going to this Web site as a student or a graduating student is helpful because part time jobs and internships are available. When the Web site comes up you will see a list of services jobtrack.com offers; Services such as How to Find a Job, How to Register and Post your resume, an Employer Showcase, Scholarships available, Career Center, and many other great services. If you click on the Career Center, choose the school you attend, and you will be able to view everything that goes through that school.

The Employer Showcase page is a page to pick the industry you want to go into. When you select the industry, companies from around the valley and their job opportunities, their work environment and how to get the job are listed for your convenience.

Attending the Career Fair will be many employers looking for students interested in their future. Many of these companies have Web sites with information and resources available to look at. One of the companies attending is the United Cerebral Palsy Association.

“We do have a Web page that has information on it. It?s a message board that is updated every day. Also, information about what is up and coming.” said Shannon Kemp of the UCP.

Most companies will have their Web site job information and a description of the job. But not all companies will allow you to apply online. So when attending the Career Fair, don?t forget to get the Web addresses.
