Gob keeps the punk rock sound real

What can be said about Gob? Well, I have no idea what their name means, but they are about to be the next most popular punk rock band since Blink 182.

They could be classified as having a similar sound like Blink, too. Except that the lead singer has way better vocals and doesn’t sound as if his nose was being pinched throughout their whole music set. This is one of the few punk rock bands that actually have a pretty decent set of vocals.

Gob has already made a debut on the “Stir of Echoes” soundtrack with “Paint it Black.” And the band has played with legendary punk rock bands such as Bad Religion and Rancid. Their recent fetish is a small tour around the states promoting their recent release, “The World According to Gob.”

Originally from Vancouver, you could never tell by their vocals and lyrics that they are Canadians, which doesn’t set them back from achieving their true goal.

“We want to reach more fans. I’d like to play anywhere off the continent,” said Tom Thacker, Gob’s lead vocalist and guitarist. As far as their album goes, I personally prefer the songs “144” and “Been So Long.” Since I’m a girl?I like those emotional-type songs. Don’t get confused, these are the only two songs I like on the whole album.

I think touring with Bad Religion has helped Gob’s music as far as performing the historic punk rock sound.

This album is for anyone who has ever liked any of Blink 182’s, Bad Religion’s or MXPX’s albums. It’s definitely something worth checking out.
