Campus car stereo thieves caught in the act
March 1, 2001
Three Asian males, two adults and one juvenile, were arrested for possession of stolen goods on the second floor of the parking garage late Thursday afternoon between the times of 6:00 and 6:30 p.m. A witness noticed the males breaking into a Chevy Cavalier on the fifth level, removing its stereo equipment. The witness then contacted campus police along with the Sacramento Police Department.
As the suspects attempted to flee in a late model Honda Accord, a campus police car stopped in front of them on the second story of the parking garage, as two Sacramento Police Department patrol cars arrived and another campus patrol car, blocking the left lane, arresting the suspects.
When bystander Paul Gregorio, a junior who also owns a Cavalier, was asked how he would have felt if he had his stereo equipment stolen, he replied, “I?d be pissed.”
