Bus service saves time and money into Sac State
February 24, 2001
Many Sacramento State students take Regional Transit that provides access from around the city of Sacramento to school and vice versa. RT routes 30, 31, 34, 79, 82, and 87 provide service to and from Sacramento State seven days a week.
There are several advantages to riding the bus. One of them is that it beats the parking crunch.
“(Taking the bus) is an advantage because of the parking situation,” said Joseph Shorter, a Sac State student who frequently uses the bus to go to and from school. Shorter also said that riding the bus is free by using his OneCard.
Freshman Monica Niu also agrees. “You don?t have to find parking,” Niu said.
Students who have their OneCard usually ride the bus for free. It saves students at least $60 a month, plus students riding the bus will also save them a lot of time.
“I didn?t have to pay for a parking permit. It saves you money,” said Christina Webb, a junior at Sac State.
These bus routes can be a very good alternative to get to and from school.
“I take the bus often. It saves me money, gas, and parking,” said Dara Chhit, a freshman attending Sac State.
Senior Kim Lyles also agrees on taking the bus. Lyles also stated that she doesn?t have to spend money on gas when driving her car. These RT bus routes provide connections to other bus routes at major intersections, shopping areas, and other landmark locations.
