Best Cheap Eats
February 7, 2001
College students are always looking for a cheap, but good, bite to eat. This is where Jack?s Urban Eats and its sister restaurant, Paesano?s Pizzeria, come into play. Offering good food at low prices, these two restaurants are just what college students need for their non-fast food fix. Jack?s has two locations to serve you, the first at 1230 20th St. and the other in Loehmann?s Plaza. The menu consists mostly of grilled flank steak and turkey and several delicious sides. Jack?s focus may be on meat, but there is also room for vegetarians as well. There is a great selection of large salads each for less than $6?the best being the Caesar.
Serving their guests cafeteria style, finding a seat during peak lunch and dinner times can be a challenge, but is a small price to pay for the low-cost, large-portion meal you will receive.
For those of you with a hankering for pizza and pasta, take a trip to Paesanos? at 1806 Capitol Ave. Be sure to try the Ranch Pizza, made with chicken and a ranch dressing sauce. Paesanos? great specialty pizzas are complimented by their wide beer selection and atmosphere, which makes it a great place to hang out on weekend nights.
Short on cash and craving good food? Next time, be sure to visit Jack?s and Paesano?s, you won?t be disappointed.
