The Sacramento State Men’s Choir, University Chorus, Women’s Choir and conductor Dr. Donald Kendrick will present the annual holiday concert, Procession of Carols.
The event will take place this Saturday and Sunday at Sacred Heart Church located at 39th at J Street.
“The annual holiday concert has been performing for the community since 1985. It has become to be known as the most developed, largest community event for Sacramento State.
“Families, parents and students support this event. They look forward to the concert to kick off their holiday celebration,” said Donald Kendrick, the director of choral activities and the conductor of the holiday event.
Both evenings will include a narration from faculty member, Professor Richard Adams. Adams is a professor from the English Department. He will read excerpts from Charles Dickens and T.S. Elliott.
The concert will include a candlelit procession, an organ and an audience sing-a-long.
“The audience gets involved with the singing. They sing along with the choir members. It fills the church with sound. There is usually not a seat left empty during the concert. The holiday concert has sold out for the last ten years,” Kendrick said .
The admission cost for the concert is $10 for general and $5 for students and seniors. Advance ticket sales can be purchased at (916) 278-4323.
