Youngster Jonathan Lipnicki (Jerry Maguire and Stuart Little) is at it again in a family film “The Little Vampire,” that opens Friday, just in time for Halloween.

Uli Edel’s “The Little Vampire” is the story of an eight-year-old American boy, Tony Thompson (Lipnicki), who moves with his family to Scotland. There he makes friends with a family of friendly vampires whose lasting wish is to become human again. The film becomes a search for a magical stone that has been lost for 300 years, which if found before the comet Attamon crosses the moon, the vampire family would have their mortality again.

The movie is based on Angela Sommer Bodenburg’s “The Little Vampire” novels that have been loved by children for 25 years. Over 12 million copies of the series have been sold worldwide.

The film is a cross between an action and a comedy, complete with flying vampire cows and a gadget-laden vampire hunting truck. Check this vampire flick out and see if sends shivers up your spine or tickles your funny bone.
