The office of Services for Students with Disabilities is presenting a Crisis and Stress Management Workshop geared towards staff and faculty at Sacramento State.

The workshops will be hosted by Dr. Mark Taylor. Taylor has worked as a professor and is the director of Guidance Services at Arkansas State University. He is a specialist in student services and social work.

There will be two different kinds of workshops held. The first workshop, titled Crisis Management Workshop, will help faculty and staff who confront conflicts or frustration with students. The workshop will help explosive behavior turn to more self-controlling behavior.

The second workshop, Juggling Jello: Stress Management Workshop, will focus on environments that can be very stressful. Dr. Taylor will help people deal with stress so that it doesn’t affect them emotionally.

“This is more geared towards the faculty and staff of Sac State so that they can benefit from these kinds of workshops,” said Marsha Robinson, an administrative assistant for SSWD.

The event is free and though it is geared towards the faculty and staff, the workshops are open to the general public.

The event will be held on Monday, Oct. 23 in the University Union’s Hinde Auditorium. The Crisis Management Workshop will begin run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the Stress Management Workshop will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
