Social Security and Medicare forum to be hosted by Sacramento State

For the first time ever, Sacramento State will be hosting a public forum regarding Social Security and Medicare.
The event will take place at Sacramento State on Saturday, Oct. 28 in the Music Recital Hall located in the Capistrano building.
“We?re expecting 200 to 300 people to show up, including students and faculty,” Manny Gale, director of Gerontology Center said.
Social Security and Medicare have been critical issues during recent presidential debates. With this forum, seniors and other concerned parties will be able to ask tough questions and get answers from presidential representatives.
The Sac State Gerontology Center will be providing representatives from the Gore, Bush, and Nader campaigns. From 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., the topic they will discuss is “Social Security ? Proposals for Change.” The topic from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. will be on “Medicare ? Proposals for Change.”
“The forum is a very powerful thing,” Gale said.
