Just Ask- Advice from two college students who have been there and done that

Christine Brownell and Jennifer Tillett

Q. I was snooping on my boyfriend?s computer while he was at work and came across a file of a bunch of naked pictures of his ex-girlfriend. I don?t know what to say to him because I shouldn?t have been looking in there. But how do I know there?s not something still going on with them and why would he still even have these pictures?

A. We really don?t think you have much to worry about, but we understand your concern. He has the photos because either A) he?s lazy or B) he enjoys looking at pictures of naked women.

Either way, he?s living up to the “typical guy” stereotype. We do think, however, that you need to address the subject because it?s always going to be in the back of your mind.

“Play” on his computer while he?s home and “accidentally” come across the pictures. At this time you both can discuss the issue. Trust your intuition when he answers. He may offer to erase them right away and plead for your forgiveness. If he puts up a fight then maybe your relationship needs evaluation.

If you are uncomfortable with him having the photos, then he should trash them, no questions asked. But if you want to skip the confrontation all together, never underestimate the power of the delete button!
