Weekend play tribute to Theatre professor

‘A Talent to Amuse,’ an encore benefit performance and musical tribute to Dr. Gerald A. Larson, will take place at the Playwrights’ Theatre at Sacramento State on Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

This show features Georgia Larson, singers Claudia Kitka and Bradely Moates, pianist Carole Delaney and a cameo appearance by Robert Smart.

Dr. Gerald A. Larson taught Theatre Arts for 37 years at Sac State and is being honored for his outstanding contributions as a teacher, actor, writer, and director.

Larson’s wife Georgia inspired the production of A Talent to Amuse, using memories of their married life to narrate the story of the their times together. It overviews their life experiences and shared passion for the theatre.

Songs in this performance will be by Noel Coward, one of Larsons’ favorite playwrights and composers.

Donations are $15 for general admission and $10 for students and will fund student scholarships in theatre and dance.
