Pilar Avina is an English major and journalism minor. She transferred from College of San Mateo back in spring 2024. She is from the Bay Area but was born in Jalisco, Mexico, where her parents were born as well. This is her first semester being part of The State Hornet and she wants to use this opportunity to spread awareness about Hispanic struggles in America.
