In a press conference Monday morning, the California Faculty Association announced the dates of a five-day strike if negotiations with the California State University administration do not yield results.

If the salary dispute remains unsettled, the CFA will strike for five days on all 23 CSU campuses from April 13-15, and April 18 and 19.

“We don’t want to strike, but we will,” said Jennifer Eagan, president of the CFA. “The faculty will not back down.”

The salary dispute is over the two percent raise the CSU is currently offering. The CFA is fighting for a five percent raise for all faculty, as well as a Service Salary Increase for all faculty who are eligible.

Eagan said that if the April strike fails to bring the CSU administration back to the negotiation table, then the CFA board of directors will plan for further job actions.
