Women’s soccer earns first conference road win

The Sacramento State women’s soccer team got their first conference road win against Idaho State University 3-2 on Sunday.

Idaho State outshot the Hornets 20-16 and had the advantage for shots on goal at 10-5.

In the 28th minute, Sac State junior forward Kassidy Kellogg scored the first goal of the game.

A minute later Sac State scored its second goal from junior defender Rachel Leonard. It was Leonard’s first goal of the season.

During the 49th minute, Idaho State’s Maria Sanchez scored.

In the second half, Sac State scored its third goal, as junior forward Adaurie Dayak earned her fourth goal of the season in the 61st minute.

In the 77th minute, Sanchez scored for the Bengals.

Sac State freshman goalkeeper Destiny Butcher had a game high eight saves.

The Hornets will face the University of Northern Colorado on Friday, Oct. 16 at 3:30 p.m. at Hornet Field.
